This was my part of a collaborative effort from my Motion Graphics class to create a series of informational public notices for the Alfred State College University Police department, which will be shown across campus.
As the designers, we came together to create a specific, continuous identity for the entire campaign. We included the client in the decision-making process as well, and invited them to attend as we presented our mood boards. Many ideas were rejected and in the end we settled on a design by classmate Frank Schwind, which included a color palette and aimed for a “youthful” feel. We also selected two fonts.
The class then set about creating assets for universal use in the project. I created all the assets I used in my segment, including the car, the sign, and the road in Photoshop. The assets were shared amongst the group via dropbox.
After creating the assets, it was only a matter of bringing them into After Effects to animate them. We went through several phases here, and presented our animated pieces to University Police representatives twice before finally calling it a finished project and a job well done.
Our clients were very pleased with the results.
